Sign Ups

Starting January 2025, SMM Extended Care sign-ups will be online only. You will no longer receive a paper copy of a calendar each month. You are expected to sign up your child online, using the following link each month: https://smmchurch.org/smm-extended-care

A form must be completed per child, not per family. Sign ups will close on the 20th of the month, prior to the month you are signing up for. The form will close on the 21st of each month, and any change after this point will be considered a “late add.” 

Late Adds 

If you have a change to your schedule and need to add a day, there will be a $5 fee, per child, per day for a “late add”. SMM Extended Care is not, and never has been a “drop in” program. You are expected to sign up each month for the days that you will need to utilize. The sign up link will change on the 21st of each month (or the first business day after the 21st)  from the “regular” sign up to late sign up, and the link will automatically reflect this price change. 

Credits/Refunds 

If you have a change to your schedule and no longer need after care for a day, you must email by 1pm on the day of the change and request a refund. Refunds will be given based on those emails, and will go back to the original source of payment.

Inclement Weather 

In the case of school closure, delay, or early dismissal, there will be no extended care. If there is a delay, there will be no morning care. If there is an early dismissal, there will be no aftercare. If a decision is made based on inclement weather, this is considered an emergency and you are responsible for your child. Refunds will be given to all students signed up in the case of school closure. 

Morning Care 

Morning care will now be a flat rate of $25 per month, per family. Once you pay for a month, you are welcome to utilize morning care as many days as needed. If you “drop in” on a day of a month that you are not signed up for, you are expected to make up the payment of $25 online, or with a check made out to SMM Extended Care. Once paid, you are welcome to utilize morning care for the remainder of that month. 

Faculty Students/Families of 4 Children 

Those who utilize Extended Care at no charge are still expected to sign their child up online. Simply click “proceed to payment” and do not enter payment information. Once you have clicked "proceed to payment", you have submitted the form without payment. I will be notified of this and waive the fee when appropriate. I plan to continue to honor the “4th child” rule - if you have already signed up and paid for 3 children for a month, children signed up from the same immediate family beyond this will be able to attend at no additional cost.

Price Changes

I know that I have given you a heads up about this in previous newsletters, and also have spoken to many of you in person. Extended Care prices have been raised, starting in January. I will continue to be transparent about this decision and the reasoning behind it. Delaware’s minimum wage has been raised for the new year. Price changes have been based on the need to staff the program and compensate staff appropriately. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your family and I thank you in advance for your understanding. 

January regular sign-ups are now closed. Please select the date(s) listed below for the month of January that you would like to add. Please note that there has been a $5 fee added, per day.

February regular sign-ups are now live. Please select the date(s) listed below for the month of February that you would like your child to attend. February regular sign-ups will "close" on January 21st at 10am.
