Parish life centers around Mass (Liturgy), prayer, and growing in our understanding of our faith and Catholic teachings and is best shared within a community of believers. We seek the same goal - to know and stay close to God ... or as our mission states... to KNOW CHRIST AND BE CHRIST FOR OTHERS. While there are clergy and parish staff who help lead and guide us in these varied efforts, there's always a role and need for many parish members to help our leaders in creating and providing opportunities for worship and learning.
We are a community of faith and just as in any community that is fully alive, members get involved, take ownership, and invest their time, energy, and hearts. In parish life, we do this to not only make those liturgical and learning moments richer for the other members of the community, but for our own faith development as well. It is through this level of commitment that we come to understand and be strengthened to BE CHRIST FOR OTHERS!
Exploring ways of touching others' lives and faith by participating ourselves is what this committee is designed to support. Liturgical Richness and Formation has been established to affirm those people already active in ministry areas, communicate the ways others can also get involved, and connect parish members together to share our lives and our faith journeys! The committee tries to ensure that parish life help us keep Christ at the center of our lives by offering diverse experiences and varied ministry areas that invite a myriad of gifts and talents to be shared. We are seeking a vibrancy in our faith community that touches peoples' minds and hearts in an active and inviting way!
Some of the liturgical ministry and formation opportunities are on-going groups and some are events. Examples of liturgical ministries are Altar Servers, Lectors, Choir, Ushers, etc. Ministries areas that support formation might be Catechists for Religious Education, Vacation Bible School volunteers, etc. And, the many events offered to spark our faith would include the Ladies Nights, or Sunday afternoon adult education presentations on scripture, etc. The goal of this committee is to better communicate these various areas to be involved and connect the members of our parish community to each other in a more personal way. "Parish life" should always provide opportunities to re-center and constantly restore our "faith life".
