All catechists are requested by the Diocese to both complete their background check prior to being in the classroom (required) and to be certified within the first 3 years of teaching. There are 3 main areas of certification: Theological, Methodology, and Personal Development.
The diocese is in process of changing certification requirements. Anyone who wants to get in under the old requirements should contact Karen Yasik as soon as possible!
This is a power point from Joe Paprocki, author of The Catechist's Toolbox. It was incredible and I know you will learn a lot from watching it. Contact Karen Yasik for a way to use this towards certification - Beyond the Catechists Toolbox power point Evangelizing Catechesis.ppt
